I hate to see a website project in distress or struggling to get off the ground, but I’m here to support businesses if it happens.

For founders who are floundering, established brands that need a second opinion and every situation in between, I’ve created the Escalator Programme. I’m obsessed with websites that just work, and the project process that makes them happen. With the right insights and advice, I’ve proven that any project can succeed.

And succeed it must, because in today’s competitive digital world, there’s no room for websites or partners that aren’t delivering value.

From stress-inducing software and dull designs to content that doesn’t convert, I explore every corner of your website and give advice that bridges the gap between where you are and where you need to be. Let’s call it a blueprint for building your competitive advantage online.

Are we right for each other?

Although I advise companies of all sizes including publicly listed corporations, this particular consultation service is designed to help startups, small and medium sized businesses.

If you’re an investor, founder, marketing manager or website owner and it isn’t performing, get in touch to see how I can help get you across the line.

Is this you

Every situation is unique so my advice is too, but there are some challenges that every business will face along the way.

  • My current agency has made a dog’s dinner of our project
I’ll bring fresh eyes to your project, untangle every tangle, and apply our proven web process to find the quickest and most effective route from calamity to victory.
  • Our website’s no longer selling us like it should
With a little brand exploration and competitor research, I’ll evaluate your brand position and explain how to activate it across your website and marketing.
  • I think my website’s great but the numbers say different
It won’t matter what your website looks like if the sales funnel leaks or your content doesn’t connect. I’ll help you find out why you’re struggling and what you can do next.
  • My website is difficult to use and takes too much time to manage
If you’re a 21st century business with 20th century software, I’ll guide your transition to a streamlined and efficient website product.
  • I want to raise capital or secure an exit but my website doesn’t do us justice
Using insights from our work with founders and VCs, I’ll help you transform your website into a compelling investment proposition.
  • I’m starting a business and need a professional website, yesterday
When you’re short on time and money but long on potential, I’ll give you a blueprint that keeps the process lean but mean. And if you want, I know an excellent team of website experts than can design and build it for you too.

Whats in the box?

The Escalator Programme package includes kickoff, deep dive and presentation meetings, plus a final report full of insights that help you move forward with confidence. I’ve been managing website projects for over 20 years, so I can give expert advice on topics such as:

About me

“The art of good business is being a good middleman.”

Michael Gambon as Eddie Temple – Layer Cake (2004)

Whenever you’re involved in a website project, it’s likely you’ll have a someone somewhere (the client, or project owner/sponsor) who has an idea of what they want and a team of people somewhere else who know how to bring pixels and code to life.

I bridge the gap between these two groups.

To the uninitiated, bridging that gap might appear to be a simple matter of passing on a message. Some might even suggest it would be much easier to get the customer to talk to the people who’ll design or build whatever is required and literally cut out the middleman.  But the unique way a website is put together requires a special someone who understands both sides and is able to get them working in perfect harmony, even if they rarely meet or speak to each other and this is where I come in.

I’ve been managing website projects for 25 years and during that time I’ve developed a system that’s designed to cope with the real world challenges that inevitably crop up when you redesign and/or rebuild a website.  And I really enjoy it!
