Uncle Mike’s legacy lives on
Recently the 438ers got together for our quarterly State of the Nation update meeting. There was lots of great news across many areas of the business but one of the most exciting updates was the announcement of ‘Willig Days.’
Inspired by and in honour of our much-missed colleague and Creative Director Mike Willig, Willig Days are time away for our usual ‘day jobs’ to take part in activities that will inspire our people creatively, cultivate their existing skills or help them to learn new ones. This could be anything from a visit to an exhibition, a research trip to a training course or a live event.
Mike was all for boundless creativity, he was for experiencing exciting things, fresh ideas, new ways of working and discovering inspiration. He was also for fun, joy and living life to the fullest. It seems a fitting tribute to his legacy that every 438er continues to improve our minds, get inspired and have a bloody good time in the process.
And so, the first Willig Day was taken by our Senior Art Director Alex Jones in London on Friday 10th June. Alex attended the First Round conference in London. It’s a one-day showcase of original presentations made to clients showing initial design explorations for logo, identity, and branding projects – hugely interesting for other agencies to share notes and approaches.
Stay tuned to find out more about Alex’s experience and for more Willig Days for other members of the team.
“You’ve all done very well.”
